BURBANK: Girl Meets World, a spin-off of the 1990s hit Boy Meets World, is coming to an end after its third season wraps later this month on Disney Channel.

Girl Meets World has been airing on Disney Channel since 2014. The live-action series follows the adventures of Riley (Rowan Blanchard), the daughter of Boy Meets World‘s Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel), and her best friend Maya (Sabrina Carpenter). The final three episodes, titled “World Meets Girl,” “Girl Meets Sweet Sixteen” and “Girl Meets Goodbye,” are slated for broadcast on January 6, 13 and 20, respectively.

A series of statements on the Twitter account for the Girls Meets World writers’ room reads: “It is with incredible pride in our work and complete sadness that things end, that I report to this wonderful audience that our show is over. I just officially got the call, and would like to thank this audience for its incredible love and loyalty. Please watch our January episodes. We leave you with three incredible souvenirs of a show we couldn’t be more proud of. As I look back I can tell you with absolute certainty—we gave you our best.”
