Deirdre Brennan Joins Corus Entertainment

TORONTO: Deirdre Brennan, a former ABC TV executive, has been hired by Corus Entertainment as VP of content for Corus Kids.

In her new role, Brennan will be responsible for all content aspects of the Corus Kids portfolio, which includes YTV, Treehouse, Nickelodeon, TELETOON, Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD in Canada. She will oversee Corus Kids’s original programming, acquisitions and scheduling teams, and will be charged with the development, management and execution of the entire Corus Kids programming slate. Brennan will also help expand Corus Kids’s global partnerships with children’s broadcasters, creators and talent. She will work out of Toronto under Colin Bohm, the executive VP of Corus Kids.

Brennan most recently served as head of children’s at ABC TV, where she oversaw ABC KIDS, ABC3, ABC Children’s iview and online. Earlier in her career, she was general manager of BBC Worldwide, where she led the BBC Worldwide portfolio of channels in Australia and New Zealand, and director of programming for Nickelodeon Australia. She is a member of the International Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences.
