LONDON: FremantleMedia Kids & Family (FMK) has secured a range of licensing and retail deals for the rebooted Danger Mouse in Australia and New Zealand.

In toys, new distribution partners have been signed, with Banter Toys & Collectibles coming on board in Oz. A New Zealand partner will be announced shortly. They will launch a toy range developed by master toy licensee Jazwares later this year. Penguin Random House has acquired the publishing rights for both Australia and New Zealand, while Roadshow has snapped up the DVD rights for the territories with a new release, Mission Improbable, set to launch in May.

Meanwhile Danger Mouse Classic is also available for adult licensing opportunities, with Australia Post set to release a stamp pack in April and Empire Apparel signed for outerwear.

The show airs on ABC3 in Australia and on TV Four in New Zealand. FMK owns the global TV and licensing rights for the series.

Liz Burnett, the director of consumer products for FremantleMedia Australia, said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the reception our uniquely British hero has received from Australian and New Zealand audiences. We’re confident that the blend of action, humor and gadgetry is going to translate perfectly to the licensing market and allow Danger Mouse to really stand out from other boys’ properties.”
