TORONTO: Industry veteran Pam Westman has been appointed as the head of Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana Enterprises.

In her new role, Westman will oversee brand development and management across the Nelvana portfolio, including retail management, licensing, consumer products, content sales and digital on a global basis. She will work under Scott Dyer, the president of Nelvana, and will help set the company’s strategy within the larger Corus portfolio of channels and brands.

Westman previously served as director of integration for Staples Canada. Before that, she was the executive VP of HIT Entertainment, where she led the Canadian, U.S. and LatAm divisions through a period of strong growth. She was also part of the senior executive team that completed the sale of HIT to Mattel.

“As we focus on the continued growth of our international business and our strategy to own more content, convincing Pam to return to her roots in brand management was a real coup for Nelvana,” said Dyer. “Pam brings strong leadership skills as well as a wealth of experience to the organization.”

“I am very happy to be joining the Corus team, and am excited to work with everyone at Nelvana to grow the portfolio of brands,” added Westman. “During my career within the kids’ entertainment business, I have always admired Nelvana and the Corus broadcast channels, and am now very proud to be part of the family.”

Antoine Erligmann, who manages Nelvana’s European office, will report to Westman.
