Apolo Films has secured a deal to bring Chuck Chicken and Harry & Bunnie from Malaysia’s Animasia Studio to European territories.

The television rights of both animated series will be managed by Apolo Films in the main European countries, including Spain, Portugal, the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Scandinavia, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg.

Chuck Chicken follows the adventures of the titular chicken, who uses a Golden Egg with a dozen special powers and the help of a pair of friends to provide “Kung Fu style” protection for the citizens of Rocky Perch Island. The action comedy-adventure series, which is aimed at children ages 7 to 11, currently streams on iQiyi in China and Netflix and airs on Disney XD South East Asia.

A non-dialogue slapstick show for kids ages 7 to 11, Harry & Bunnie centers on the conflicts between an aspiring magician and his mischievous former stage rabbit, who has a habit of stealing his wand—and his limelight. The series currently airs on Disney in the Asia Pacific and Netflix.

Raye Lee, executive director of Animasia Studio, said: “Animasia is delighted to have Apolo Films on board as our distribution partner for the European market for our flagship IPs Chuck Chicken and Harry & Bunnie. We are absolutely thrilled to be working with the dynamic and experienced team at Apolo Films.”

Claudio Biern Boyd, president of Apolo Films, added: “Chuck Chicken and Harry & Bunnie are two big successes of modern animated series that confirm there’s no frontier for this genre. We thank Animasia for the trust placed in us for its distribution and we are sure that this alliance will be very enriching for both parties.”
