Ferly (formerly Kaiken Entertainment) has tapped Popcorn Digital, CAKE’s digital division, to develop and launch the company’s new content on YouTube.

Popcorn Digital will create original animated content based on Ferly’s IP as well as launch and manage the company’s channels on YouTube. Ferly and Popcorn Digital are collaborating on Momolu Minis, a new digital series based on the upcoming 2D preschool animation brand Momolu and Friends, which is about a gentle, naive panda. The property is expected to debut on YouTube later this year.

Popcorn Digital will also support the creation and launch of Ferly’s digital teen shows slated for 2019, including the short-form cartoon Butthole Biscuits.

Bruna Capozzoli, content director for Popcorn Digital, said: “As we continue to expand our digital offering moving further into content creation, Ferly is a great addition to our roster of channels and we are very much looking forward to collaborating with their talented team on expanding their original IPs into the digital space.”

Joonas Rissanen, Ferly’s VP of creative, added: “We’re thrilled to be executing our digital strategy with the experienced team at Popcorn Digital and CAKE. Together, we’ve embarked on a journey of exploration to share our great brands with audiences who will hopefully love them and engage with them.”
