British Academy Children’s Awards Nominations Unveiled

BAFTA’s annual ceremony celebrating the best in global children’s media, the British Academy Children’s Awards, has confirmed the nominations for the 2019 event.

Nominees in the animation category include The Amazing World of Gumball, Danger Mouse, The Demon’s Head and Hilda. 4 O’Clock Club, Class Dismissed, Horrible Histories and So Awkward picked up nods for comedy, while The Athena, Creeped Out, The Dumping Ground and The Worst Witch are among the dramas being recognized.

Digby Dragon, Floogals, Hey Duggee and Numberblocks are the preschool animation nominees; and Apple Tree House, Ferne & Rory’s Vet Tales, Molly and Mack and Moon and Me are the preschool live-action nominees.

In the international categories, the animated series Apple & Onion, Doc McStuffins, Spongebob Squarepants and Teen Titans Go!; and live-action series Andi Mack, Malibu Rescue and Odd Squad have received nods.

Nominated channels include CBBC, CBeebies, Hopster and TrueTube.

Nominations were also announced for the following categories: content for change, digital, director, entertainment, factual, factual entertainment, feature film, game, performer, presenter, short-form, teen, writer and young performer.

The British Academy Children’s Awards is set to take place at The Brewery in London on Sunday, December 1.
