Baboon Animation & Custom Nuts Enter Partnership

Baboon Animation has entered a partnership with Tokyo- and L.A.-based Custom Nuts to merge their pools of writing and visual talent.

Baboon’s creative development team, with 31 Emmys collectively, has developed titles such as Angry Birds Toons, Gigantosaurus and Pocoyo. Custom Nuts is led by Silas Hickey, who has developed two of the most successful series in Asia, including Chhota Bheem.

“Silas and Matthew bring absolute top-class expertise [and] deep, firsthand experience in IPs from countries across Asia, and funny, funny cartoon comedy,” said Baboon CEO Mike de Seve.

“There are no better writers anywhere than Baboon,” Hickey said. “We’re thrilled that each of us is a complementary piece to the other.”

Custom Nuts’ Matthew Howison added, “Our incoming investor base is excited by the greatly enhanced firepower of talent and global capability that this partnership brings.”
