Annecy Festival Unveils 2020 Mifa Program

Mifa, the market component of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Market, will take place online from June 15 to June 30.

“We look forward to welcoming the many professionals and talents from around the world,” said Véronique Encrenaz, head of Mifa. “Together, let’s make this Mifa 2020 online edition rich with meetings, exchanges, discoveries, and of course, acquisitions!”

The online market will feature Virtual Stands where attendees can meet professionals from other countries and talk to individuals and delegations, speaking to them live via the live-chat. Mifa Pitches, Territory Focus Pitching and the new Comics Mifa Pitches will enable one-on-one meetings with over 80 project leaders. Share With Sessions will facilitate meetings with head buyers from the main channels, platforms and distribution companies.

Mifa Campus is an event just for students and young talents that will provide guidance towards the working world (assistance with creation, behind the scenes of an animation studio, employment market overview, all via the CNC, RECA (list of animation schools), SVA (sound, video, animation, etc.). Meet the…are meetings aimed at festival programmers, composers and book publishers.

Co-production opportunities with China, Japan and others can be found during Industry Territory Focus. The Video Library offers a viewing space for finished content or projects. Press Conferences will include live Q&A sessions with news from the main channels, platforms and professional organizations.

On the Mifa Special Events program is the European Film Forum’s “The Audiovisual Sector in a Post-Pandemic World: Focus on Animation.” Women in Animation and Les Femmes s’Animent will also be presenting a conference.
