Mediawan and ZAG have appointed Moonbug alum Andy Yeatman as the CEO of their new joint venture Miraculous Corp USA and global operations.

Yeatman will oversee U.S. and international business operations with the aim of growing the Miraculous brand into an expanded universe with new characters, narratives and content. He will work closely with Pierre-Antoine Capton, board chairman of Miraculous Corp and co-founder and CEO of Mediawan, and Jeremy Zag, board member and major shareholder of Miraculous Corp and founder of ZAG.

Together, they will work on creating new TV movies, spin-off series with original characters and the upcoming Miraculous: The Movie 2, to be directed by Zag.

Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir was originally created by Thomas Astruc, Nathanaël Bronn and Zag and produced by ZAG and Median Kids & Family. Since launching in 2015, it has become available across 150 territories and won a variety of awards. The movie adaptation earned $44 million at the box office and achieved over 35 million views on Netflix in its first month.

Prior to this, Yeatman was the head of Moonbug USA for six years, during which time he built out CoComelon and was integral to its success. He previously founded and led Netflix’s kids’ content department. During his tenure there, the platform’s kids and family programming received 30 Daytime Emmy awards, with 100 total nominations. Before that, he worked for various other media groups, including Walt Disney Studios, Ascent Media Group, Verizon and CIBC World Markets.

“I’m delighted to welcome Andy to the Mediawan family and to have him join the extraordinary adventure we’re building with Jeremy Zag around Miraculous,” Capton said. “His expertise is an invaluable asset for such an iconic brand. The creation of Miraculous Corp with Jeremy, and now the appointment of Andy, are wonderful news that will enable us to exploit the full richness of the unique universe of France’s most successful superheroine.”

“I have been a fan of Miraculous Ladybug since 2015, when Jeremy first introduced me to the show,” Yeatman commented. “There is enormous potential to continue to build out the universe that Jeremy, Thomas and Nathanaël created. The adventures ahead will feature new heroes, villains and ways for fans all over the world to interact with this universe. I’m honored to work with Pierre-Antoine, Jeremy and the team to lead the next chapter of storytelling and growth for this beloved brand.”

“I have known Andy for many years, and he has always been passionate about his work,” added Zag. “He is a dedicated professional with extensive experience. I am very pleased to welcome him to the adventure we are all experiencing together alongside Pierre-Antoine and the incredible teams at Mediawan.”
