BBC Children’s and Education, Alphablocks and Blue Zoo Animation Studio are bringing back the phonics-focused series Alphablocks.
The educational series returns to CBeebies with a visual upgrade and advanced phonics curriculum designed for young learners. The reboot marks the first full season since 2013, following the success of the Alphablocks–Numberblocks crossover specials in 2022.
Each episode of the renewed Alphablocks features enhanced animation, promising to maintain the show’s signature charm while introducing more complex phonics concepts and helping children master reading fundamentals through storylines and musical elements.

The Blocks brand content is used in 90 percent of U.K. primary schools, and these educational animations have revolutionized early learning to such an extent that the national curriculum has adapted to match children’s enhanced capabilities.”
In January 2025, a new entry to the Blocks lineup, Wonderblocks, premiered on CBeebies. The new series of Alphablocks premieres on February 10 and will be released on BBC iPlayer.
