AfroAnimation Slates Fourth Annual Edition

The fourth edition of the AfroAnimation Summit has been slated to take place from April 10 to 12 in Burbank, California.

This year’s event will include a focus on gender representation in the industry, a spotlight on the gaming and V/R industries, the launch of a new international film ceremony celebrating diversity in animation and the arts and a star-studded lineup of speakers. The 2023 event was headlined by Peter Ramsey, co-producer of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

A packed lineup of speakers, awardees and attendees are expected this year, along with hundreds of local high school and college students. Recruiters representing major Hollywood animation studios will be on site to connect with, interview and hire diverse talent.

Event activations include the Live Illustration Competition, Dolby Music Cafe, Immersive Gaming Experience, Internship Corner, Icon Awards Luncheon, FRWD Awards Dinner and an Independent Short Film Competition. Event sponsors include Sony Pictures Animation, DreamWorks Animation, Nickelodeon, LAIKA Studios, Xence Labs and more.

The event is taking place at the LA Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel.
