MONTREAL: Canada’s TELETOON has given the go-ahead to Chop Chop Ninja, a new animated series based on the locally created game franchise, that is being produced by Sardine Productions and Gamerizon Studio.

The 40×11-minute action-comedy series is based on the game franchise created by Montreal’s Gamerizon. Chop Chop Ninja follows the comic adventures of Iro, a clumsy and intense ninja, and his three best friends. They’re all training as Chop Chop ninjas and must defend Chop Chop Academy. The show follows on from Chop Chop Ninja Challenge, a series of shorts on TELETOON. The series is supported by the Shaw Rocket Fund.

“TELETOON fans can’t get enough of Chop Chop games and the shorts,” said Athena Georgaklis, the director of content at TELETOON. “Audiences will be delighted with the new adventures of Iro and his gang in the new series.”

“With the Chop Chop Ninja shorts now sold in more than 100 territories, we’re thrilled to follow up with a full series,” commented Madeleine Lévesque, the VP of content at Sardine Productions.

“With the addition of this series to the already popular games, Chop Chop Ninja should prove to be a fun multiscreen experience that kids can delve into and enjoy,” added Agnes Augustin, the president and CEO of Shaw Rocket Fund. “We’re happy to support Sardine’s latest production.”
