BabyTV Launches Safe Small World Programming Category

The Disney-owned toddler channel BabyTV has introduced “Safe Small World,” a new category of limited-length programming designed to help parents manage toddler screen time.

Within the new category, all playlists on BabyTV’s YouTube channel are capped at one hour. The content features characters such as Billy Bam Bam, Charlie and the Numbers, Oliver and the Cuddlies.

“Parents are often told to limit screen time, but they’re rarely given practical tools to help manage it,” said Tamar Elder, global content manager at BabyTV. “Safe Small World is a simple way to make that guidance easier to follow.”

BabyTV’s programming is designed around its proprietary child development framework FABBASING, developed in collaboration with child psychologists and inspired by the U.K.’s Early Years Foundation Stage.

The programming is developed under a set of editorial principles designed specifically for very young audiences, including strict safety standards, clear storytelling structures and learning mechanisms that demonstrate cause and effect so toddlers can easily follow and understand what they are seeing.
