CBBC to Broadcast Armorsaurs in the U.K.

BBC has picked up two seasons of Armorsaurs from CAKE for CBBC and iPlayer.

Armorsaurs is an ambitious, high-impact series that combines cinematic live-action storytelling with cutting-edge VFX and a powerful sense of adventure,” said Dominic Gardiner, managing director of distribution at CAKE. “The BBC is a natural home for the show, with its long-standing commitment to premium, imaginative content for kids and families, and we’re thrilled to be introducing Armorsaurs to U.K. audiences. This launch marks an important step in building the franchise as a multi-platform global brand.”

Armorsaurs, aimed at kids 6-plus with co-viewing appeal, follows a team of teen pilots and their armored dinosaurs, who are humanity’s last line of defense against an advanced alien race intent on returning to Earth to replenish their army of prehistoric fighting dinosaurs. It is produced by MGA entertainment and is an adaptation of the South Korean show Armored Saurus, originally developed by Daewon Media.

Sarah Muller, senior head of commissioning for 7-plus at BBC Children’s and Education, commented, “Armorsaurs is a bold and imaginative series that brings together thrilling storytelling and cutting-edge visual effects. Partnering with CAKE and MGA allows us to bring this exciting new adventure to CBBC and iPlayer, giving children and families an unforgettable experience to enjoy together.”
