KiKA Introduces Tree & Bee

KiKA and the Croatian studio Recircle are introducing the new preschool series Tree & Bee, which has already sold to several public broadcasters in Europe.

“I am already a big fan of Tree & Bee and their stories, coming from the outstanding and talented British writer Davey Moore, produced in close association with Recircle, HRT and KiKA and brought to us by Meta Media,” said Sebastian Debertin, head of international content acquisitions and co-productions at KiKA. “In times where a careless childhood is under pressure on many levels and from many sides, Tree & Bee celebrates this important and precious phase of life in a cheerful and absolutely wonderful way. The series is bringing back the chance for young kids to just be a curious child once again, and I cannot wait to see our youngest KiKA kids audiences joining our two heroes, Tree and Bee, on their fantastic and delightful daily journey for fun and adventure.”

Tree & Bee follows the curious, daydreaming Bee and the cheerful and tenacious Tree as they tackle life’s big and small questions together. It has already been sold by distributor Meta Media Entertainment to Yle in Finland, SVT in Sweden, DR in Denmark and ERR in Estonia.

Thirteen episodes will be delivered later this month, with a further 13 episodes to come in April 2026.

“We wanted to make a cheerful, heartwarming series that celebrates the sheer delight of being a kid—the wonder, silliness and small adventures that make childhood so special,” said Denis Alenti, producer at ReCircle. “From the very beginning, our goal was to capture that joyful energy and share it with audiences everywhere. We’re deeply grateful to KiKA and HRT for their commitment to this vision and for being such passionate partners throughout the journey. Working with them has been an inspiring and genuinely fun experience—they love this project as much as we do. It’s exciting to see that shared enthusiasm come to life on screen.”

“I am delighted to be bringing this funny and heartfelt series to kids around the world, who will hopefully be as enchanted as we all are,” said Sara Cooper, founder of Meta Media.
