ZDF & KiKA Slate Sam & Julia—The Mouse Mansion Broadcast Debut

Sam & Julia—The Mouse Mansion, based on Karina Schaapman’s internationally best-selling books, is slated to make its broadcast premiere on KiKA on November 28 and on ZDF on January 4.

The series, co-produced by Cielo Films, Caribara Production, SuperswissRed, M.A.R.K.13 and ZDF Studios, follows the adventures of two mouse friends in a handmade miniature world. It has been streaming on the ZDF website since October 27.

“I created Sam and Julia to show children a world built on friendship, curiosity and togetherness,” Schaapman said. “Seeing this little handmade world come alive on screen and reaching children in so many countries is a dream come true. It feels as though The Mouse Mansion has been born again, this time for everyone.”

“From the very beginning, our goal was to bring the warmth, craftsmanship and emotional depth of The Mouse Mansion to life on screen,” added Léon-Gilbert Hus of Cielo Films. “Every detail—from the handmade sets to the gentle storytelling—reflects the authenticity of Karina Schaapman’s world. We’re delighted that German audiences can now experience this universe and its spirit of friendship and curiosity in a whole new way.”
