ABC Commercial Secures Deal with UKIDS in China

Australia’s ABC Commercial has secured a deal with UYoung’s UKIDS app, its first distribution agreement in China, for three preschool properties.

“Breaking into China is no easy feat,” said Alex Zhou, content sales manager for Asia and MENA at ABC Commercial. “It is one of the most tightly regulated media markets in the world, with high expectations around content quality, educational value and cultural sensitivity.”

“UKIDS’ parent company, UYoung Media, is one of the most iconic distributors of children’s content and IP management in China and a key contact for foreign programming,” Zhou continued. “Their strong relationships with media platforms, combined with their 25 years of experience and deep market insight, were critical to making this happen. It’s becoming more restrictive, but the fact our content is breaking through speaks volumes.”

Among the titles included in the deal are seasons four through seven of Ready, Steady, Wiggle!, Wiggle & Learn and Big Words, Small Stories. UKIDS will localize the titles to be made available across China.

Seasons four and five of Ready, Steady, Wiggle! and Big Words, Small Stories will launch on UKIDS in mid-October. Seasons six and seven of Ready, Steady, Wiggle! and Wiggle & Learn will follow on January 1, 2026.
