New Season of Vegesaurs in Production

Production of Vegesaurs season three has commenced, with 20 episodes on the way.

The show follows the adventures of Ginger, a young Tricarrotops, and her three baby Pea-Rex buddies, Minty, Wasabi and Split, in a prehistoric world dominated by the juiciest and crunchiest creatures ever to rule the planet—the mighty Vegesaurs.

Created by Gary Eck and Nick O’Sullivan and developed by Cheeky Little Media, Vegesaurs is made in partnership with ABC (Australia), Screen Australia and Studio 100 Media.

The show has amassed over 20 million views since its debut. It’s also gathering momentum across the world with a slew of sales in Europe, Asia and North America. A global Pan MacMillan publishing deal, a supermarket loyalty program with Lidl in Spain and Austria and other major licensing categories are in negotiation.

Patrick Egerton, executive producer for Cheeky Little Media, said: “We’re hugely excited to roll straight into a third season of this remarkable show. It seems to take root wherever it lands, and there are no limits to the stories we can tell with Ginger and the Peas in Vegesaur Valley.”

ABC stated: “There is just everything to love about this incredibly creative and hilarious show. Ginger and her trusty Vegesaurs gang continue to hit the spot with young audiences with physical comedy and adorable versions of vegetable dinosaurs. We knew there was a huge appetite for this show (excuse the pun), so greenlighting season three was a no-brainer. Congratulations to Gary, Nick and the Cheeky Little Team.”

Grainne Brunsdon, head of content for Screen Australia, said: “Screen Australia is absolutely thrilled to be part of the adventure as Ginger and the Vegesaurs embark on their exciting journey into season three. This heartwarming and imaginative children’s series has captured the hearts of young viewers at home and across the globe and celebrates the power of storytelling, creativity and curiosity in our little ones. We can’t wait to see where Ginger and her prehistoric pals take us next!”

“We are excited to extend our partnership with Cheeky Little, ABC and Screen Australia,” added Martin Krieger, CEO of Studio 100 Media. “From our discussions with international broadcasters and platforms, it’s evident that Vegesaurs has garnered immense acclaim globally, enjoying remarkable success across various channels.
