TVOkids & Big Jump Team for Griffin and Turner

TVOkids and Big Jump Entertainment are working together on the 2D series Griffin and Turner, based on real Canadian brothers who already have an online following.

The brothers approach winning differently: It’s more about the journey and less about the first-place title. They approach a lot of things differently and learn differently, too—and it’s not just because Turner has Down syndrome.

Griffin and Turner inspires learning and play through the invented challenges taken on by these brothers, their family and their friends.

Karen Swerdfeger, VP of development at Big Jump Entertainment, said: “When I first watched Griffin and Turner online, I was struck at how sweet they were together. A sweetness that didn’t feel like it was for the camera but true to their relationship. But then, when I saw glimpses of the goofy brother dynamic and then learned the story of this family, I was smitten. I wanted even more of the world to meet these two.”

Rick Morrison, president of Big Jump Entertainment, said: “Griffin and Turner will explore the different approaches to learning and the personal challenges therein. The animated series inspired by real-life brothers from Nova Scotia with an impressive online following is set to be Big Jump’s most enduring project to date. We are very excited to start the journey of realizing Griffin and Turner to the screen in collaboration with TVOkids, the perfect home from which to tell their stories.”

Kirsten Hurd, executive producer at TVOkids, added: “TVOkids is thrilled to partner on this series, which does an incredible job of authentically representing a supportive sibling relationship. On-screen representation matters, and I think it’s important that the series was developed in consultation with the Down syndrome community. We look forward to sharing Griffin and Turner with the many families and educators that turn to TVOkids for quality learning experiences that prepare kids for school and life.”
