Paramount & Nickelodeon Bolster Animation Divisions

Paramount and Nickelodeon have appointed Latifa Ouaou as executive VP of movies and global franchises for both animation banners and Eryk Casemiro as executive VP of global series content for Nickelodeon Animation.

Ouaou will oversee theatrical and streaming film content across Paramount Animation and the Nickelodeon Animation Studio. Theatrical titles now under Ouaou’s purview include The Tiger’s Apprentice, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Next Chapter and PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie.

Ouaou joins from Illumination, where she was an executive producer on The Grinch and the upcoming Minions: The Rise of Gru. Prior to that, she was a producer at DreamWorks Animation, where she worked on the Shrek franchise. She also produced Puss in Boots and co-produced Monsters vs. Aliens.

Casemiro, formerly Nickelodeon’s senior VP of preschool, will now lead animation series content for preschool and kids 6-11 across all formats and platforms for Nickelodeon Animation Studio. Casemiro has helped grow Nickelodeon’s animation division, working on some of its biggest preschool hits, including Baby Shark’s Big Show!, Blue’s Clues & You!, PAW Patrol, Santiago of the Seas and Rugrats.

Previously, Casemiro was senior VP of creative affairs at Klasky-Csupo Productions, where he was responsible for the development and production of several Nickelodeon shows such as The Wild Thornberrys, Rocket Power, As Told By Ginger and All Grown Up! Prior to that, he was the chief creative officer for Zodiak Kids Studios.

Both Ouaou and Casemiro will report directly to Ramsey Naito, president of animation for Paramount and Nickelodeon. Under Casemiro, Claudia Spinelli, formerly senior VP of animation development, will assume the role of senior VP of series animation for big kids.

Naito said, “Latifa and Eryk each have outstanding track records for developing and producing some of the most beloved and recognizable animated content for kids and families, and I am excited to have them take on these new key roles. Under their leadership, Paramount and Nickelodeon are building the next chapter of groundbreaking storytelling.”
