Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has signed an agreement with Purpose Media that sees the introduction of a TeenNick-branded programming block in Vietnam.

This deal marks the first time that TeenNick is debuting in Asia. Starting today, the hour-long block is airing weekdays at 8 p.m. on the HTV3 DreamsTV channel. It will feature such live-action series as I Am Frankie, Hunter Street, WITS Academy, Supah Ninjas and Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide dubbed in Vietnamese during the first year.

Paras Sharma, the senior VP and general manager for Southeast Asia at VIMN, commented: “The introduction of a TeenNick-branded block is an exciting extension of the Nickelodeon brand in Asia, which has already seen success in other parts of the world. We hope to deepen our audience engagement with young fans who are growing up with Nickelodeon, while allowing us to showcase some of Nickelodeon’s live-action dramas and sitcoms for the first time in Vietnam.”

Thanh Bui, the founder and chairman of Purpose Media, added: “HTV3 DreamsTV is proud to present the exclusive TeenNick-branded block to our young audience in Vietnam. I believe that education is the foundation for our children’s future, but in today’s world, educational messages need to be conveyed through entertaining and fun ways. Therefore, I appreciate the TeenNick live-action series, which make our children’s world more colorful and playful, yet still teach them good [lessons] and values.”
