Disney Kicks Off Production on The Rocketeer

Production has begun on The Rocketeer, a comic book-based animated adventure series that is slated to premiere on Disney Junior next year.

The Rocketeer follows Kit, a young girl who finds out that she is next in line to become a legendary superhero who can fly with a rocket-powered jet pack. The show is aimed at young viewers between the ages of 2 and 7 and their families.

Each episode will feature a pair of 11-minute stories and an original song. The series is being produced by Wild Canary in association with Disney Junior.

Joe D’Ambrosia, the senior VP of original programming at Disney Junior, said: “We are very excited to introduce The Rocketeer to our young Disney Junior audience. The vast storytelling found in the original comic books provides the perfect opportunity to create an exciting new adventure series told from a young girl superhero perspective that the whole family can enjoy together.”
