BBC Worldwide to Adapt Anna & Froga Books for TV

BBC Worldwide has signed a development deal with Vanilla Seed, Superprod and Chouette Company for an animated television show based on the Anna & Froga books written by France’s Anouk Ricard.

Anna & Froga follows the adventures of a little girl and her animal pals. Henrietta Hurford-Jones, the director of children’s content at BBC Worldwide, will help co-develop the 65×5-minute series, which will be animated using CG claymation. The book was first published in France by Editions Sarbacane, and has also been licensed to publishers around the globe.

BBC Worldwide also has other female-skewing projects in development, which the company will present at MIPJunior: Mystery Soup, a comedy adventure meant for tweens and teens, and Riona’s Warriors, an animated comedy aimed at viewers between the ages of 7 and 12. The former is about a group of friends dealing with typical teenage issues as well as supernatural mystery and mayhem, while the latter focuses on young children who turn into a mighty band of warriors and go on adventures together.

Additional titles on offer from BBC Worldwide at the market this weekend will be DanTDM, Max & Harvey (In A Show), the sophomore seasons of Hey Duggee and Go Jetters, and the third installment of Sarah & Duck.
