Wheel of Fortune & Jeopardy Head Back to Germany

LONDON: After a decade-long absence, the popular game shows Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy are set to return to Germany this fall.

Sony Pictures Television Germany will produce 60 episodes for each show, which will air on RTL’s new channel, RTL Plus. Both titles will go into production over the summer and air in the autumn, with SPT Germany’s managing director Astrid Quentell executive producing. The formats are licensed by CBS Studios International.

“We are tremendously proud to bring back these two great formats, which have been off air for over ten years,” said Quentell. “We absolutely love game shows and believe Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy fill a huge gap in the current market, and appeal to both those who fondly recall the original runs as well as viewers who’ve never seen the shows.”
