TV Formats Screenings Festival Spotlight: ZDF Studios

ZDF Studios is bringing to MIPTV the new format Skydive Quiz, which it is also highlighting in the TV Formats Screenings Festival.

Ralf Rückauer, VP Unscripted at ZDF Studios, says the new family-friendly entertainment show takes the “tried-and-tested quiz show format to a whole new level—literally. In Skydive Quiz, the questions are easy, but the contestants must answer them while falling from the sky.”

“And then suddenly, questions like ‘What is your mother’s second last name?’ aren’t quite so easy after all,” Rückauer adds. “There’s only one rule for taking on this challenge: first-time jumpers only.”

The show is part of an expanding formats lineup at ZDF Studios that also includes the game show QUIZ HUNT, the crime-stopping tool Crime Watch XY and the long-running studio variety format Wanna Bet?

QUIZ HUNT is “an exciting contest that keeps viewers glued to their screens,” Rückauer says.

In Wanna Bet?, guest celebrities place bets on whether or not individuals or groups who claim they can perform a difficult task can actually carry off the proposed tricks. “In this show, nothing is pre-recorded or edited,” Rückauer notes. And, “if the celebrities lose their bet, they must complete a task of their own, most often an entertaining charitable gesture.”

Crime Watch XY, meanwhile, has been a successful tool in the fight against criminality, with an average of about 40 percent of aired cases being solved.
