Armoza Formats has struck up a deal with the South African production company The TVSMITHS for local adaptations of three formats: Queens of Love, Double or Nothing and Guys in Disguise.

Developed by Armoza, Queens of Love sees three fabulous drag queens come to the rescue of a hopeless single who has been looking for love in all the wrong places. The dating format features hour-long episodes.

From Armoza Formats, Studio Glam and NBA Productions, Double or Nothing is an adrenaline-filled studio challenge show that tests if two really are better than one. Every episode, each one hour, sees a pair of contestants take on a variety of crazy and fun challenges to win big money.

The half-hour format Guys in Disguise—from Artza Productions, Armoza Formats and Roy Even Tov—is a surprise-filled comical dating show. In each episode, one single goes on a date with two secret admirers who have been thinking of her, although she may not have even noticed them. They will be dressed in weird and wild costumes, fully disguised from the object of their affection.

Anthony Wayment-Nel, COO and executive producer of The TVSMITHS, said: “As ever, the team at Armoza deliver in the realm of quirky and individual formats that stand out from the mundane and the clutter. Double or Nothing is a good old-fashion studio entertainment show that has everything a broadcaster will want. Dating shows are hot property in South Africa so we are excited about Guys in Disguise, a dating format with the global trend of disguise, and Queens of Love, an extremely fun and irreverent show that talks to the values and principles of The TVSMITHS. We look forward to bringing these formats to South African audiences.”

Louise Melzack, senior sales director of APAC, Nordics, GSA, GB and Africa at Armoza Formats, said: “We are thrilled to be working with The TVSMITHS on these varied formats. Their energy and creativity match the essence of these formats. We look forward to bringing these shows filled with positivity, warmth and fun to South Africa during this challenging time.”
