Talpa and Acun Medya have inked a multi-season deal to produce The Voice and The Voice Senior for TV Azteca in Mexico.

Mexico becomes the first Latin American country to acquire the spin-off format The Voice Senior. The show, which features elderly singers, is now licensed to seven countries since its launch last August. The eighth season of The Voice of Mexico is slated to air in March 2019 on Azteca Uno, followed by the premiere of The Voice Senior.

Since the start of Exatlon in 2018, TV Azteca and Acun Medya have been in a long-term collaboration to support Azteca’s new strategy of live TV.

Alberto Ciurana, chief content and distribution officer at TV Azteca, said: “It’s been a great year for TV Azteca and part of our success has come due to our partnership with Acun Medya. We are very pleased to work with them and have high hopes on the amazing format The Voice on Azteca Uno.”

Ebru Atasav, CEO of Acun Medya, commented: “We are very happy to be in a close partnership with TV Azteca since the first day of Exatlon. Adding The Voice and The Voice Senior into our productions will now extend this creative relationship to a new level.”
