Talpa UK Taps New Director of Development & Formats

LONDON: Madeleine Knight, previously a commissioning editor at Channel 4, has become the director of development and formats at Talpa UK.

During her tenure at Channel 4, Knight’s commissions included 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Fifteen To One, Time Crashers and the upcoming Wedding Town. She now joins the British office of John de Mol’s media company.

Maarten Meijs, the managing director of Talpa Global, said: “Talpa’s goal is to create global impact with our content. The expansion of our format portfolio in the U.K. is a crucial part of our strategy, and to be able to reach that goal we’ll work together with the fantastic network of companies within ITV Studios. Madeleine Knight will be in charge of this process as the new director of development and formats. Madeleine will oversee the development and execution of existing as well as new formats that have been developed by Talpa and will be produced in the U.K., as well as ensuring the qualitative and creative integrity we’re known for.”
