MUNICH: The rural cooking competition format Country Women Cooking has landed in Serbia, where it’s set to air on the RTS public channel.

Serbian producer Fruit Works acquired the format rights from Global Screen. The production will begin this summer for a September debut.

In the show, seven country women take part in a culinary challenge and invite each other to enjoy a homemade meal. The show was originally produced by the German Swiss Public Television (SRF), which has confirmed that it will be producing a tenth season next year.

Snezana Matic Peric, the managing director of Fruit Works, said: “We are proud to produce this authentic cooking format, which brings the audience back to their roots. It reveals an important part of their heritage, which is translated via the original recipes.”

Alexandra Heidrich, the head of TV sales and acquisitions at Global Screen, commented: “Country Women Cooking is one of our most popular formats as it has ingredients that appeal to audiences worldwide: authenticity, delicious food, the perfect mix of suspense and lighthearted moments.”
