LONDON: RDF Television’s hit series The Secret Life of 4 Year Olds, which launched on Channel 4 in the U.K., is getting local treatments across Europe following a number of format deals with Banijay companies.

Zodiak Belgium produced a 6×35-minute version for French-speaking Belgium, where it premiered on RTBF last month. In France, TF1 will air an adaptation by the end of the year, with NT1 debuting a 4×60-minute version produced by Banijay Group’s KM Productions. A 6×45-minute treatment from Zodiak Netherlands is slated for broadcast on NPO1 next year. A 6×60-minute Spanish adaptation, produced by Magnolia Spain, made its premiere on Movistar+ in September. These new commissions add to the success of local versions on VTM in Flemish-speaking Belgium and Denmark’s DR1.

The Secret Life of 4 Year Olds is globally distributed by Banijay’s Zodiak Rights.

Teresa Watkins, the creative director of development at RDF Television, and executive producer on The Secret Life of 4 Year Olds and associated series in the U.K., commented: “Everyone involved in the production of The Secret Life of 4 Year Olds falls in love with it—we haven’t seen such young children in this way before and the series is a privilege to work on. So it’s a total joy to see it traveling around the world like this. And heartwarming to know there’s a global appetite for such uplifting television.”
