RTL Netherlands, TV 2 Denmark Sign Up for The Box

The reality format The Box, from the Norwegian production company Seefoood TV, has landed two international adaptations.

RTL Netherlands and TV 2 Denmark commissioned the series straight to license, making them the first international broadcasters to secure the format ahead of its Norwegian premiere on TV 2 on January 9. TV 2 Denmark plans to launch its first season in 2025.

Aleksander Herresthal, creator and producer at Seefood TV, said: “We greatly appreciate the international interest in The Box. Discussions are ongoing with more than 20 territories considering the format, and we’ve already finalized deals in five additional countries, which will be announced at a later stage, as they are not yet official.”

The Box challenges 12 contestants to face the fear of the unknown. They have no clue where they are or what to expect. As the door to the box opens, they will be in the middle of a challenge, and they must figure out what the task is about and how to complete it—without receiving any prior hints.
