Married at First Sight Recomissions, New Orders

Red Arrow Studios International has signed a raft of new commissions, recommissions, spin-offs and tape sales for the Married at First Sight format.

M6 in France has recommissioned its own version of the format for a sixth season from Studio89 and has picked up season four of RTL’s French-speaking Belgium adaptation for its Teva channel. In the Netherlands, RTL has recommissioned the format for season seven and picked up season eight of the Australian version as well as the first season of the Australian reunion specials.

Additionally, RTL has taken season 12 of the U.S. version of Married at First Sight, season six of the U.K. version and seasons one through three of the Australian version for its SVOD service Videoland.

Further new commissions have been secured with Antenna TV (ANT1) in Greece, to be produced by Antenna Studios, and Planet TV in Slovenia. New seasons of existing local versions have been commissioned by Nine (Australia) for season nine of its local version produced by Endemol Shine, RTL Belgium (French-speaking) for season five, DPG Media (Flemish-Belgium) for season seven and TVN (Poland) for seasons six and seven.

In addition to airing an eighth season of its local version, SAT.1 in Germany has commissioned five episodes of a new spin-off from Redseven Entertainment, titled Married at First Sight International. The series will pull together highlights from local versions around the world. In another deal, Seven.One Entertainment Group has picked up seasons five and six of the U.K. version and seasons four and seven of the Australian version for its sixx channel and streaming platform Joyn.

Other tape sales include DPG Media (Flemish-Belgium) acquiring season eight of Married at First Sight Australia, plus the reunion specials, and season six of the U.K. and Dutch versions; SIC (Portugal) taking seasons 10 through 12 of the U.S. version and season eight of the Australian tapes; and MTV Oy (Finland) picking up U.S. season six and season three of the U.K. version. In Sweden, SVT is picking up seasons 12 and 13 of the U.S. version and TV4 is taking season seven of the Australian version and season six of the U.K. version. Additionally, the format’s original commissioning broadcaster DR (Denmark) has acquired season 12 of the U.S. tapes, plus Married at First Sight Unmatchables; and Three (New Zealand) has picked up season six of the U.K. version.

Married at First Sight was originally created and produced by the Red Arrow Studios company Snowman Productions for Denmark’s DR.
