Head of Content Appointed at Banijay Group

Banijay Group has hired Lucas Green, ex-head of development at FremantleMedia’s Thames, as head of content, a newly created post that is effective in January 2018.

Green will be responsible for the creation and development of all non-scripted formats for Banijay Group. He will collaborate with the company’s local managing directors and group-wide creative talent to cultivate the flow and circulation of intellectual property. He will also oversee Banijay’s creative investment strategy, making sure that funds are available for new developments and pilots with international appeal.

As head of development at Thames (The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent), Green helped launch new prime-time entertainment formats as well as reboots of Blankety Blank and The Price is Right. Before joining the FremantleMedia UK label, he co-founded Superhero Television and, earlier, served as head of development at Princess Productions.

Peter Langenberg, the COO of Banijay Group, stated: “I am delighted to welcome Lucas to Banijay. With his extensive format experience, I have no doubt he will be hugely instrumental in enhancing the flow of IP within the group.”

Marco Bassetti, the CEO of Banijay Group, noted: “Lucas brings tremendous creative experience to the group and will be of great value to us all as we enter our next phase of growth and realize our global potential.”

Green added: “It’s a really exciting time to be joining Banijay with their ambitious plans to grow the business. It’s a young company but already has a fantastic slate of international formats and brilliant producers. For me, the opportunity to help cultivate a creative network on a huge scale is a dream job.”
