Global Agency’s brand-new folklore singing competition Sounds of the Nation has been snapped up in France and Greece.

Sounds of the Nation was acquired by Hervé Hubert for France and Antenna TV for Greece. The show sees celebrities search for local folk singers in their hometowns. It has already enjoyed success on RTVS 1 in Slovakia, where a second season was commissioned and is currently on the air.

Izzet Pinto, the founder and CEO of Global Agency, remarked: “Sounds of the Nation is a new feel-good, uplifting and enriching singing talent format [in which] customs and folklore unify generations of audiences. The format is all about going back to the roots and showcasing traditions to viewers from different backgrounds. When we first watched the show’s trailer, it really caught our attention and we believe that this format can be very successful anywhere it is aired. We are so happy to be collaborating with Hervé Hubert for its French version and Antenna TV for the Greek adaptation; I am pretty sure that they will produce great results accordingly. We are about to close deals in China, Czech Republic, Russia and Turkey for the show. We are also negotiating with another six to seven territories—I believe we will give the good news soon.”
