Game of Chefs Returns to Romania

BUDAPEST: Following a successful first season, the prime-time cooking format Game of Chefs has been licensed by ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) to Romania’s Antena 1 for a further two seasons.

The local version, Chefi La Cutite, debuted in Romania this spring, achieving an average share of 19.3 percent. The broadcaster now commissioned another two seasons of 14 episodes each. Season two will premiere later this year.

Game of Chefs is an original format developed by The Lab, a joint venture of Reshet Media and ITV Studios.

Jennifer Ebell, the VP of sales for southeast EMEA at ITV Studios Global Entertainment, said: “Coming from the dynamic Israeli market, Game of Chefs offers an exciting new twist on the ever popular cookery genre, turning it into a large-scale studio show. Its success in Romania demonstrates that the format can be easily adapted for different broadcasters’ requirements and that it would be perfectly suited to other territories in the CEE region.”
