China’s Huace Film & TV Takes ITVS GE Scripted Format

LONDON/SINGAPORE: ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) has clinched a scripted format deal with Huace Film & TV in China.

Huace Film & TV will produce a Chinese version of an existing ITV Studios scripted format and will sell the finished product across Asia. Distribution in the rest of the world will be handled by ITVS GE.

The two companies previously signed an agreement that brings Star on Ice to China on Beijing TV in the lead-up to the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games.

Mike Beale, the executive VP of global development and formats for ITV Studios, said of the new pact, “We are excited about working with Huace on this new deal. We have a wide and rich portfolio of scripted shows and it’s a perfect fit with our global content strategy to exploit this in Asia and beyond.
