FremantleMedia Preps Swedish Music Format for Global Launch

LONDON: FremantleMedia is planning to launch the new music entertainment show Q The Music, produced by FremantleMedia Sweden, to the global market at MIPCOM.

The 4×1-hour series sees two teams of celebrities battle it out in a high-octane music-themed quiz to be crowned champion. The show is slated for the prime-time Saturday night slot on SVT, Sweden’s largest broadcaster. The format is created by FremantleMedia Sweden and former American Idol executive producer Per Blankens.

Blankens commented: “Everyone loves the infamous ‘guess the intro’ contest and being able to sing along to their favorite hit songs. This show is entertaining for the whole family, fusing a lively party atmosphere with a fast-paced competition for the crown of ultimate music buff.”
