FOX Adapting Argentine Series The Cleaning Lady

FOX has ordered the drama pilot The Cleaning Lady, based on the original Argentine series La chica que limpia.

The U.S. version for FOX will be a co-pro between Warner Bros. Television and FOX Entertainment. The character drama centers on a whip-smart doctor who comes to the U.S. for medical treatment to save her ailing son. When the system fails and pushes her into hiding, she refuses to be beaten down and marginalized. Instead, she becomes a cleaning lady for the mob and starts playing the game by her own rules.

Miranda Kwok (The 100, Spartacus: Blood and Sand) will serve as executive producer and writer, alongside fellow EPs Shay Mitchell (Amore & Vita Productions; acting credits: Dollface, Pretty Little Liars, You) and Melissa Carter (Queen Sugar, Stargirl).
