LONDON/NEW YORK: The MTV reality formats Ex on the Beach and Stranded with a Million Dollars will see new local adaptations.

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has confirmed its eighth local treatment for Ex on the Beach, with Sony’s Viasat3 in Hungary on board. Produced by Paprika Latino, Ex on the Beach Hungary (Exek az Édenben) is currently in production and is scheduled to air later this year. The series will consist of 22 episodes and will air four nights a week.

VIMN also revealed that Ex on the Beach Sweden (Ex on the Beach Sverige) has been locally produced for a third season by Discovery Networks Sweden. Produced by Meter and confirmed to air on Kanal 5 this month, the series will be accompanied by a brand-new spin-off show exclusive to Discovery Networks Sweden’s online TV platform Dplay.

MTV’s new survival-based reality series Stranded with a Million Dollars is also making waves internationally, following its U.S. debut in February. VIMN confirmed three international option deals for the new original format, with Metronome in Denmark, Meter in Sweden and Chile’s Chilevisión.

Laura Burrell, the head of formats, international program sales at VIMN, said, “We are thrilled to announce the first international partners for MTV’s Stranded with a Million Dollars. Aside from the captivating premise of the show, the format introduces a fresh spin and a brand-new filming technique to the reality survival genre, which we are confident will excite and intrigue international producers and broadcasters looking for their next big reality hit. As Ex on the Beach also continues to go from strength to strength internationally, it’s fantastic news that a local adaptation will be coming to Hungary!”
