LONDON: The Dragons’ Den format is getting its first-ever adaptations in Brazil and Kenya, alongside Germany ordering a fourth season of its local version.

In Brazil, Canal Sony has ordered its first-ever season of Shark Tank: Negotiating with Sharks. The 13-episode run is produced by Floresta and will debut this week. In Israel, Keshet commissioned a local series of Dragons’ Den to be produced by Gil Productions for transmission in 2017. Kenyan broadcaster Nation TV ordered its first season of the show, and the 12-episode run is produced by Quite Bright Films and airs this fall. In Germany, VOX ordered season four of the Sony Pictures Television (SPT) format.

VOX’s chief editor and head of entertainment, Kai Sturm, said: “We are very excited for the fourth season of Die Höhle der Löwen and the continuing cooperation with Sony Pictures Television. Die Höhle der Löwen is currently Germany’s most successful show on Tuesday night. Nobody can ignore the start-up show—whether on television or in the start-up scene.”

Jane Dockery, the senior VP of formats and international distribution for SPT, said: “Dragons’ Den continues to strike a chord with audiences around the globe and it’s fantastic to see so many new broadcasters discover this engaging and pertinent format. With over 30 adaptations worldwide to date, Dragons’ Den is now the world’s most successful business reality show.”
