Dori Media’s Power Couple Gets New Seasons in Mexico & Brazil

Dori Media Group has sold additional seasons of its reality format Power Couple into Mexico and Brazil.

In Brazil, season four reached a record TV viewing share of 11.8 percent. Season five will broadcast on Record TV with 52 daily episodes. In Mexico, the first season of Inseparables (Power Couple’s local name) aired on Televisa, recording the highest ratings in the 8:30 p.m. prime-time slot. Season two will air daily with a total of 40 episodes.

Power Couple, created by Abot Hameiri, gives couples extreme challenges to test how well they really know each other. In this game, couples can convert the closeness of their relationships and their knowledge of each other into big cash prizes. The series has been sold in total to ten countries previously, including Israel, Germany, Brazil, Hungary, Slovenia, South Africa, Portugal, India, China and Croatia.

Nadav Palti, CEO and president of Dori Media Group, commented: “We are delighted that the new season of Power Couple has attracted additional sales in two very strong territories. This reflects the continuing ratings success of the Power Couple format. The format resonates with audiences across different territories and cultures. The show builds a strong emotional connection between the couples participating in the show and its audiences—just as it did most recently in Brazil and Mexico, which makes them tune in week in, week out. Power Couple’s success is truly global with sales continuing both in new and existing markets thanks to its enduring appeal.”

Eduardo Clemesha, VP of entertainment of Televisa, added: “Inseparables is an exciting couple competition reality with high production values, which enriches Canal 5’s all year round original content offer. Inseparables’ first season premiere increased the average audience of its slot by 25 percent.”

Marcelo Silva, artistic and programming VP of Record TV, said: “Power Couple Brazil was born as a program with two weekly editions and we realized that it had the potential to grow in our grid. Thus, we come to the format of five weekly editions, from Monday to Friday. As a result, the program had more viewers on all platforms and became the most talked about on social networks. Today, it is among the most popular confinement realities in Brazil and demonstrates long-term potential on open television and other platforms. In the fifth season, we will have even more news and a new presenter.”
