BBC Studios has clinched three new format deals in Sweden, including the first adaptation of the Norwegian game show Nation’s Dumbest.

Montreux Film and Fjernsyn’s Nation’s Dumbest is set to be made for TV4 by BBC Studios Nordic Production alongside the paranormal format Uncanny. Both are being produced in the spring for launch later this year. In addition, SVT opted for a local take on Curve Media’s Our Dementia Choir, set to go into production in August.

Peter Nyren, the newly appointed managing director of BBC Studios Nordic Productions Sweden, noted, “It has been a pleasure to lead the team in Sweden and witness the growth of BBC Studios in the Nordics. I am proud of all three new multi-genre productions, which demonstrate the breadth of original, innovative content available in BBC Studios’ portfolio. These formats have the ability to spark conversations long after the episodes end, providing audiences in Sweden new, compelling entertainment.”

BBC Studios Nordic Production also landed renewals on the kids’ scripted series Klassen (First Years internationally) and Leah’s Magical Spectacles.
