Banijay, Université Côte d’Azur, the City of Cannes and Cannes Lérins Agglomeration have confirmed the return of their master’s program focused on the creation and development of TV formats.

Titled “Mastering the TV Formats of Tomorrow: Creation and Development,” the bilingual course offers academic segments on design thinking, script writing, production and more taught by professors from Université Côte d’Azur, as well as practical elements such as responding to a creative brief, mastering a pitch and producing trailers under the guidance of Banijay representatives.

Applications are now open for a second year, with the view to welcoming a further 15 candidates for the program running from October 2023 to June 2024.

The master’s program was first launched in 2023 off the back of the “Content Creatives Incubator” course. The first cohort attended 350 hours of classes, hear from Banijay’s global professional network (across the U.K., the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Israel and Japan) and developed more than 15 original formats, which they pitched to a panel of experts. Now, 80 percent have secured interviews or a role, even before obtaining their diplomas.
