TEL AVIV: Armoza Formats has licensed the comedic factual-entertainment format The Gran Plan to Bell Media's Canal Vie for French Canada.

The local version of The Gran Plan, which will consist of 13 episodes produced by Zone3, is slated to begin airing in March 2016. It will feature a cast of well-known personalities for the three grannies who serve as life coaches to young people. The format was originally created by Artza Productions.

Chantal Fortier, the director of original productions and programming at Canal Vie, commented: "The Canal Vie team fell in love with the original series. We were seduced by the idea of an older generation passing down their wisdom and we are confident that the show will appeal to our audience."

Mélanie Ratté, co-director of development at Zone3, stated: "Adapting the format in order to bring in three celebrity grannies was obvious for the Quebec market, and we're thrilled that both Canal Vie and Armoza shared our vision in bringing this potential to life."

Avi Armoza, the CEO of Armoza Formats, noted: "The Gran Plan is a unique life-coaching format that looks to the wisdom gained from experience rather than that of current trends. We look forward to the French-Canadian adaptation and to seeing the three grannies impart their age-old advice to the younger Canadian generation."

Dafna Prenner, the CEO of Artza Productions, added: "We created the format believing that it's time to see more older people on our screens, who are just as beautiful as their younger counterparts and usually more interesting! We're thrilled that the show will be brought to Canadian audiences on Canal Vie."
