Armoza Formats and Russia’s NTV have entered into a partnership that will see the Israeli indie taking on representation for two of the channel’s new crime dramas.

Sleepers is a thriller based on the unusual paintings of real-life famous artists and the legends that surround them. The 8×1-hour series is set in the high-stakes world of international art dealing, in which a rich businessman sets out on a perilous journey to collect coveted and rare paintings of sleeping women in the hopes of revealing the truth behind their mysterious origins. His hobby turns into a dangerous obsession, as he puts into motion a sequence of shocking events and gets tangled in a web of murder, intrigue and deceit.

Also coming to the Armoza catalog is the crime thriller Death Highway. Inspired by true events, the 10×1-hour series races down the Moscow highway M-4, where the notorious GTA gang begins killing people with no apparent motive. The two detectives investigating these cases must overcome their own personal conflicts and work together to solve these seemingly random crimes that are tormenting their city.

Timur Weinstein, the general producer for NTV Broadcasting Company, said: “We are proud of the fact that such a prestigious company as Armoza sees the value and commercial potential of these two dramas from NTV’s new line of content—both with Death Highway that had such a strong first season in Russia and with Sleepers that we are excited to launch simultaneously both in Russia and worldwide. We sincerely hope that this marks the beginning of a new international distribution partnership of our ready-made series and formats.”

Avi Armoza, the CEO of Armoza Formats, added “We are thrilled to be expanding our catalog of scripted shows through partnering with NTV to bring these two intriguing dramas to the market. We look forward to launching these captivating stories that will draw in audiences with each episode, and to a strong and ongoing relationship with NTV.”
