Singerella, a prime-time factual-entertainment format from Armoza Formats, is set to be adapted in Thailand.

Context Media has acquired the local rights to Singerella in Thailand. Armoza previously inked a deal with Bandicoot TV to bring the format to the U.K. Each week on Singerella, one aspiring female singer sees her unfulfilled musical dreams come true—the chance to sing alongside an industry icon in front of thousands of people.

Peter Jenetsky, managing director of Context Media, said: “Context Media is delighted to continue our close association with Armoza Formats in the Asia-Pacific region and we are particularly excited to introduce Thai broadcasters to the charms of Singerella. It is an emotionally powerful concept, and a refreshing take on TV talent shows in a market where audiences remain hungry for the genre. The local production has already attracted some of Thailand’s biggest and brightest music and media personalities, interested in helping us make dreams come true for our Thai Singerellas!”

Avi Armoza, Armoza Formats’ CEO, added: “Singerella fills the broadcasters’ need for a feel-good and value-adding show, with a classic and simple storytelling spin that will enchant viewers. We are looking forward to working with Context Media and helping bring the Thai viewers’ dreams to life.”
