Velvet Hammer Media Inks Deal with Issa Rae’s Hoorae

Velvet Hammer Media (VHM) has signed a production deal with Issa Rae and her production company Hoorae to develop unscripted series.

The deal reunites VHM’s Jennifer O’Connell and Rebecca Quinn with Hoorae’s Rae, Montrel McKay and Nichole T. Roberts, who all worked together on Max’s Sweet Life: Los Angeles and Project Greenlight. Through the new partnership, the two companies will create projects across dating, social experiments and competition.

“We have such a successful history and great working relationship with Issa, Montrel and Nichole, and everyone at Hoorae,” O’Connell and Quinn said. “That backdrop definitely set the stage, but it’s our collective love for messy, gripping, high-stakes reality shows that sealed the deal on this new partnership.”
