TVF International Scores Spanish Deals

LONDON, February 9: Factual distributor TVF International
has licensed more than 20 hours of programming into Spain via Televisió de
Catalunya and Sogecable’s travel channel Viajar.

The deals include the sale to Televisió de Catalunya of the
4×56-minute acclaimed environmental series Journey to Planet Earth and the one-off 56-minute special, Journey
to Planet Earth—State of the Planet
.

Televisió de Catalunya also acquired the 46-minute
documentary Arctic Diamond Fever, which
recounts the search for the most valuable gem in the world in the remote lands
of the Artic; the 52-minute international arts program Monumental
Vision
, which is filmed in HD with
Australian contemporary sculptor Andrew Rogers; the 52-minute Navajo
Springtime
, made for France
5, which reveals the political,
cultural and social situation of the Navajo people in the U.S. today; the
8×26-minute arts series Every Picture Tells a Story, made for Five, which explores the myths of some of
the most famous paintings in the world; and the 3×45-minute series The Glories of Islam,
also for Five, which focuses on the
connection between the architectural splendor and the religious message of
Islam.

Viajar has picked up the 10×41-minute HD travel series Brian Sewell’s Grand Tour, which was
made for Five and features a tour of historic Italy.
