ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) has secured distribution rights to the rebooted Spanish horror series Stories to Stay Awake, originally titled Historias Para No Dormir.

Produced by ViacomCBS International Studios, Stories to Stay Awake has already been acquired by Amazon Prime Video and RTVE in Spain and will also debut on Paramount+ in several territories to be announced soon. ZDFE will represent the series outside of Spain, Portugal, Italy and Latin America, where ViacomCBS International Studios is handling distribution.

The series is made in partnership with Isla Audiovisual and Prointel and in collaboration with ZDFE. It reboots the horror format by Chicho Ibáñez Serrador that aired on Spanish television in the ’60s. Stories to Stay Awake will feature four 50-minute standalone episodes that are contemporary takes on Serrador’s stories. The cast of the miniseries includes Eduard Fernandez (30 Coins), Nathalie Poza (Julieta) and Raúl Arévalo (Marshland).

Fred Burcksen, president and CEO of ZDF Enterprises, said: “We are proud to be able to offer our clients this outstanding tribute to Chicho Ibáñez Serrador. This excellent miniseries is the joint success of a great team, which we are honored to be a part of. We are convinced that this is only the beginning of a long-standing partnership for all of us.”
